SLACK COMMUNITY RULES
Due to the unique nature and anonymity of online interactions, we want to be sure to explicitly state what isn’t acceptable on our community Slack space.
Here are things that will get your posts removed and possibly get you banned. Please note this is not a comprehensive list. Our moderators reserve the right to remove anything we deem inappropriate.
Spam: Zero tolerance. Spam will be deleted.
Hard-Selling: Selling your products or services on our slack channel will get your post deleted. Repeated offenses will have you banned. You might be asking, “Why? Isn’t this space for innovators? Won’t they have products?” It’s because selling products creates a transactional rather than personal, meaningful relationship between the members of our slack community, which is antithetical to our core values.
Bullying and Harassment: Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, whether public in Slack channels or private in DMs. To say it short, it DOES NOT go down in the DMs (Direct Messages). Doing so will immediately result in a ban. Zero tolerance.
Personal attacks: Do not attack or insult other users in our Slack community.
Doxxing: Don’t reveal someone else’s personal information without their permission on our Slack channels (or ever).
Illegal activities: Posting links to illegal downloads, ways to steal service, and other nefarious activity will be removed.
NSFW material: Even images or links that could be considered borderline are not acceptable. A good rule of thumb is that anything beyond PG-13 will get you in trouble, but we reserve the right to remove any post we deem inappropriate. This includes but is not limited pornographic material, vile language, gore, etc.
Hate speech: Zero tolerance. We define hate speech as a direct attack on people based on their identities, including but not limited to — race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, and serious disease or disability.
Trolling: “Trolling” is a big, messy term, but we know what trolls are and we won’t tolerate it. If you’re abusing the good conversations, we will delete your posts.
Spreading misinformation: We will remove posts promoting obvious falsehoods.
Multiple accounts and throwaway emails: We don’t allow multiple accounts per user. Using a disposable email address signals to us that you might not be here for the right reasons. You also may not create accounts designed to impersonate another person.
